Essex House was besieged by the Queen's men under Charles Howard 1st Earl Nottingham (65) . Robert Devereux 2nd Earl Essex (35) and Henry Wriothesley 3rd Earl Southampton (27) surrendered. Charles Danvers (33) and Christopher Blount (36) took part. Roger Manners 5th Earl Rutland (24) was implicated and was imprisoned for several months.
