On 14 Sep 1322 Bartholomew Badlesmere 1st Baron Badlesmere (47) was tried by Henry Cobham 1st Baron Cobham (62) at Canterbury during the Trial of Lord Badlesmere for Treason. Sentenced to death Bartholomew Badlesmere 1st Baron Badlesmere (47) was drawn for three miles behind a horse to Blean, where he held property, where he was was beheaded. His head was displayed on the Burgh Gate at Canterbury and the rest of his body left hanging at Blean.
