21 Sep 1327 Berkeley Castle: Death of Edward II

It is widely accepted that Edward II King England was murdered at Berkeley Castle. There were rumours, however, that he had been transferred to Corfe Castle, among other locations. These rumours may have been started by Roger Mortimer 1st Earl March to entrap Edmund of Woodstock Plantagenet 1st Earl Kent, Edward II King England's youngest half-brother, who was subsequently indicted and executed.
