On 03 Sep 1651 at the Battle of Worcester Charles II King Scotland, II King England, Scotland and Ireland (21) Oliver Cromwell Lord Protector (52) commanded the Parliamentary army with Charles Howard 1st Earl Carlisle (22) . In the Royalist army Francis Talbot 11th Earl Shrewsbury, 11th Earl Waterford (28) , Thomas Blagge (38) and Archibald Campbell 9th Earl Argyll (22) fought. Thomas Wentworth 1st Earl Cleveland (60) was captured. Giles Strangeways (36) provided 300 gold pieces to Charles II King Scotland, II King England, Scotland and Ireland (21) following his defeat.
